Observation – Preschool/Third Grade
NFSC 360 – Nutrition through the Lifecycle
Skill Area: Observation and Analysis Assignment title: Preschool and Third Grade Observation
What I learned: To be able to observe the interactions of children of various ages in their environment and make written observations and assessments of their skills.
Reflection to assignment: By observing and not participating, one is able to identify strengths and weaknesses within a particular feeding program that parents or caregivers may not notice.
Relevance to the profession: Observations are essential in analyzing the successfulness of a program. Participating in objective observations from infant feeding to seniors at congregate meal sites can prove beneficial to their program by providing feedback that those involved in the program may not be aware of.
